Solutions for Fish Farming Industry

Fish farming is a fast growing form of food production. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, nearly half the fish consumed by humans globally are produced by fish farms. This worldwide trend toward aquaculture production is expected to continue. Fish feeding technologies are evolving and products are constantly being improved. Only selected suppliers meet all applicable standards and requirements.

Marketex Marine offers steel barges to suit most requirements within the modern fish farming industry. Our products range from complex feeding systems to light-footed workboats. AKVA Group and Ocea – two renowned providers of innovative aquaculture solutions - delegate the manufacturing of their key products to Marketex Marine.

These are primarily steel barges with feed storage capacities from 100 up to 600 metric tons and are up to 30 meters in length. Over 300 floating units have been delivered to Norway as well as to other Northern European countries and America.

Barges for fish farming are manufactured as turnkey projects, produced with all outfitting and installation works, including feeding systems, engines, accommodation facilities, electrical and piping works, and other necessary equipment plus optional solutions. The design, technical solutions and manufacturing technology of the barges are continuously being developed through collaboration between the client and Marketex Marine. The barges for the Norwegian market meet the strict requirements of the Norwegian Standard NS9415 and each barge is certified.

The workboats are manufactured in various sizes, up to 15 meters in length. Hulls are made from steel, deckhouses – from aluminum. This design provides hull strength and great speed for workboats. The scope of each delivery includes metalwork, interior works, as well as electrical, hydraulic and mechanical assemblies. The product demands the highest level of professionalism from both architects and shipyards and meets the strict requirements of the Nordic Boat standard (Nordisk Båtstandard).
